"I like it"
Shelby has recently been saying "I like it" or "I don't like it" a lot lately. She likes to sit down at the table and without even thinking or taking a single bite, look at her food and say "I don't like it". Nice try there girl! Then she will preceed to eat every bite. She likes to try and see what she can get away with. She seen a commercial for the Tinkerbell movie on Disney the other day and pointed to the TV and said "I LIKE IT". So we watched Tinkerbell on Monday and I don't think she has sat that still in front of the TV for that long, ever! I atually got something completely accomplished while she was awake!
This morning we were watching our favorite, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Pete was on and she pointed to the TV and said "Pete" and I said, yep that is Pete, and she said "I don't like it"! Goofy girl.
We are not doing any speech therapy this summer since she goes to the school now for therapy. She is getting her tonsils shaved on June 17th. I am anxious to see if we see any change in her. If she actually does have sleep apnea then we might see a positive change in her moods.
She has also started hitting again when she is mad. She had quit doing this for a long time and now has started again. She has quite the little temper and we are trying to curb it.
We pulled out all of her old baby toys and she helped me go through them all. She did grab onto one and refuses to give it up now! I told her that that was sissy's and she said "no, mine"! Uh oh! lol

3 months to go
We have almost 3 months exactly left until baby #2 makes her arrival. I am starting to freak out a bit about how little we have done so far. Anyone that knows me know that I like to be prepared and organized way ahead of time. I have ordered the bedding. But we still need to order furniture and paint and wash all of Shelby's old cloths. And there are still a few things I need to buy.
I have been thinkinga lot lately about how Shelby will react to this "change" in her life. Her whole world will be turned around in the matter of one day. She won't be nearly as prepared as we will be because obviously she is too little to fully understand. She has already claimed this baby as HER SISSY. She knows there is a baby and that it is a girl and we talk a lot about it and how she will help take care of her and do her hair one day and that they will play together and share things. Of course right now she happily agrees. However, I grew up with a sister and know somewhat of what to expect! Although my girls will be closer in age by 2 years, than what me and my sister are. I know that the transition will be hard on Shelby, probably no matter how much attention and one on one time we try and give her. I am trying to prepare myself for the attention seeking to come out in the worst ways. I just pray I have the patience to handle it! I am working on it.
I am also trying to prepare myself for the transition of becoming a parent to TWO kids instead of one and how crazy that will undoubtedly be from time to time. I know that Shelby will love being a big sister and that she will love the baby, but her feelings towards us, I have a feeling will be different. I will be having a c-section again and that will limit my activities and abilities for a couple of weeks. This is what worries me. I won't be able to get down on the floor with her, I won't be able to pick her up, etc...I am not even sure how I am going to give her a bath but we will figure it all out, I am sure with a few grey hairs in the end!

New Face
Shelby recently started making this face. Usually she makes this face when she doesn't want to do something we have asked her to do. Now she will do it on command and of course everyone laughs at her and then she thinks it is hilarious too. SHe is such a clown!

Then of course after everybody laughs, she does too!

Easter
We had a great Easter this past Sunday. Very busy but fun. We started the morning off with the Easter Bunny thing at home, then church, then to MawMaw and PawPaw's where they hid eggs for Shelby outside and had a basket for her, then to my families for dinner and another egg hunt and the home where we were all wiped out! Then Grammy brought over her easter basket Monday night. Shelby really got into the whole egg hunt and Easter bunny thing. She loved it.

It's a GIRL!
We found out last Friday that the baby is a GIRL! I guess we will save a lot of money on cloths now! Everything else was perfect and she measured a week ahead! They said she will probably just be a little bigger. Shelby was 8lbs 3oz. The ultrasound pictures were really clear and she was all stretched out in there, legs stretched all the way out and she stretched her arms up above her head a few times. They zoomed in on her face and you could see her mouth opening and closing which was really cool and you see that she was flexing her fingers open and closed.
#1, the butt is over on the right hand side and the legs are stretched out horizontally, this is looking from behind
#2, looking right at the face!
#1, profile of a leg, you can see it all stretched out and the bones and there is the foot on the right hand side
#2, looking at the foot
